After
graduating in economics and Chinese, Eric settled as an independent
photographer and writer of articles for various magazines in 1989.
He then started to cooperate regularly with magazines –Terre
Sauvage, Pèlerin Magazine, L’Express, Le Point, Géo
and Prisma Presse, Télérama, Détours en France,
Jardin Passion, Groupe France Agricole…- as well as with local
public institutions –local and regional councils, the Ministry
of Environment’s local Department, the Water Agency, the Regional
Committee for Tourism, City Council…- and also photo agencies
–Andia, Angie, Publicorp- and companies –Danone, EDF,
AOM…-.
As a photographer Eric discovered Asia and in particular China when
travelling on the antique Silk Road. He then travelled in Eastern
Europe from Prague to the Danube delta after the fall of Berlin’s
wall. He reported on Hong-Kong just before the city became a chinese
territory in 1997. Being strongly attracted by the Orient, he continued
travelling along the spice and tea routes to South India and Sri Lanka.
When not travelling in Asia, Eric reported on the countryside in Normandy
and in particular worked on shots representing the life of Normandy’s
famous writers such as Guy de Maupassant and Gustave Flaubert. The
loops of the Seine Valley have inspired him and he has for example
completed a portrait of the people whose life or work is linked to
the Seine river – harbour workers, reed harvesters, ferry boat
pilots...-. He has also made a set showing the landscapes in a panoramic
format.

Today Eric’s photo library includes a wide choice of shots of
Normandy.
The photographer has recently carried out some more introspective
research in a set called ‘2001, photo journal’.
He is currently completing a project on Vietnam.
